About Julia

I picked up a camera and enjoyed taking pictures so much, I never stopped. That was more than 15 years ago.
Since then, I have photographed just about anything and everything that strikes my fancy. To me, a photograph represents an emotional, reactionary, visual snippet captured and saved from our harried lives. When interwoven - colour, subject matter, light, action and mood can create new realities and possibilities. This duality - both interpretive and honest - allows photographs to rise to art, to impact our lives and memories. For this reason, and many others, photographs fascinate me.
As a professional photographer, I thrive to provide art and joy to my customers and my community. I have a Fine Arts degree in Photography from the State University of New York and also attended the School of Visual Arts in New York City. My work has been featured in the magazine “Long Island Weddings of Distinction” and “New York Newsday”, I have exhibited in New York and Vancouver. I am a member of the Professional Photographers Association and the Vancouver Association of Photographic Arts.
